Rev. Sheila Watson: Minister, Medium & Clairvoyant
Metaphysician, Healer & Animal Intuitive

According to the Morris Pratt Institute, a Spiritualist is "one who believes, as the basis of his or her religion, in the communication between this and the Spirit World by means of mediumship and who endeavors to mould his or her character and conduct in accordance with the highest teachings derived from such communication".

Most Spiritualists hold to the following basic principles, or some variation thereof:

The Seven Principles of Spiritualism:

1. The fatherhood of God
2. The brotherhood of Man
3. The communion of spirits and the ministry of angels
4. The continuous existence of the human soul
5. Personal responsibility
6. Compensation and retribution hereafter for all the good or evil deeds done on earth
7. Eternal progress open to every human soul.

One of the more appealing characteristics I have found among modern day Spiritualists is an openness to other beliefs and practices.  For example, many Spiritualists also practice elements of Christianity, Eastern Mysticism, Native American Spirituality, and other paths.
